Students are admitted free of charge to the National Museums in Berlin as part of a moderated event. One accompanying person per 10 participants has free admission.
A fee is usually charged when booking exhibition talks, workshops or project days.
All visits by groups must be announced in advance. This also applies to school groups that visit the museums without taking advantage of a bookable offer.

The collection is based on a donation by the banker and consul Joachim Heinrich Wilhelm Wagener, who bequeathed works from the Düsseldorf School of Painting and Belgian history painters to the Prussian state. In 1876, the National Gallery was opened as the third museum on the Spree Island and after the fall of the Wall was used as the Old National Gallery of the 19th century. See sculptures such as the beautiful Sleeping Beauty and works by French impressionists like Manet, Monet and Renoir. Discover the Goethe era and romanticism with the “Monk by the Sea”, the “Gothic Cathedral by the Water” and the Princesses’ Group.
