scouts, spies, agents, coders and deceivers

are among the oldest professions in the world. No place is better suited for a spectacular homage to the actors in this international shadow world than Potsdamer Platz in the center of Berlin – the city that was long considered the capital of spies. In 2015 the museum, now known as the German Spy Museum, opened as the Spy Museum Berlin on a 3,000 m² exhibition area.

Hundreds of rare objects let history breathe: Hitler’s Enigma cipher machine, classic spy equipment such as bra cameras, bugs in leather shoes, pistols in gloves, umbrellas with poison arrows as well as original props from the James Bond films. Numerous top spies tell their breathtaking stories.

With more than 200 high-resolution monitors

Unique multimedia applications, 3D glasses and impressive projections draw the museum visitor into this ancient and ever-changing universe.

Guests in the German Spy Museum can see, feel, read, hear, smell what has been going on in this shadowy world for millennia.

When did people become spies? Did you know that “drones” were used in the First World War? Which secret service had the best codes? What is the difference between the honey trap and the Romeo method? Do you know the umbrella murder? Who knows more about you – Stasi, NSA, Facebook or Payback?
